Profile

Caitlin Wilson’s work is a modern playful take on English slipware Ceramics. Using porcelain slip, coloured with pigments she uses narrative form through black lines and bright colours to play with ceramics. Producing work in her studio in Bristol, she pulls inspiration from old paintings, wood carving found in churches, nature that is surrounding and her own imagination. Her work is formed in the ideas of functionality and art, combining the two. Enjoying the idea that some work is functional but looks more at home hung on a wall.
